Very nice site, I would absolutely recommend this site to anyone wanting a lovely and peaceful campsite. We had to delay our arrival for a couple of days, and although they were due to close due to it being the end of the season, the owners kindly kept the site open a couple of extra days for us. The site is immaculate and tidy, and the facilities were always clean and well looked after.

We stayed for four nights in September 2025 while touring. A warm welcome from Graham an and Mary, with tea and coffee and biscuits, setting the tone of our stay. The facilities are in converted stables – shower and toilet in one, lounge in another – with a fridge freezer, microwave plus essential items for sale. The site has three level pitches on a grassed field, slopping down to other pitches and a stream. Bungay is nearby plus a cycle route, also bus routes from the village. We did walk down to the heath for our dog exercise, and we had the use of an adjoining field for the same. Overall one of the best certified sites we’ve visited.

The perfect campsite to enjoy the tranquillity of the countryside. Mary and Graham are friendly and helpful. Where else are you offered tea and biscuits on arrival?The site and its facilities are clean and well-looked after.

We were met by a very friendly Graham and coffee. The site was well kept with the best CL site facilities we have come across in our many years of caravanning. Would definitely recommend and will be returning.

We had a lovely warm welcome and a very welcomed tea and biscuits. Very friendly hosts. Toilet facilities beautifully clean. The guest room was stocked with some essentials and lots of books etc. The scenery was beautiful. We would definitely visit again

Would recommend insect repellent as you are with in a wooded area if you are someone who is prone to being bitten.

Greeted on arrival with tea/coffee and biscuits. Shown to our nice big pitch and everything explained about the site. Facilities superb for a CS, clean and well maintained with extras like hair drier, outside sink for dishes and more. Web site was easy to navigate and full of detail.

What a lovely site. There were just five of us there with our vans. So much space too.

The loo and shower were well kept and very clean.

Mary and Graham were smashing, even produced a tray of tea and biscuits on our arrival.

This is in our top 10. We can’t wait for the new season to begin.

This is the best CS we have ever stayed on. When we arrived the owners came around with a most appreciated tray of refreshments, THANKYOU. The facilities were excellent, and spotlessly clean. Can’t praise the site sufficiently.

We had a nice relaxing break, the campsite was clean and tidy with everything well labelled and easy to find. It was an ideal location with lovely walks on the common which is just opposite, we hope to go back again soon.

We had a lovely stay here with our two dogs recently in our camper van.

We had a lovely welcome from the owners and coffee and biscuits were given to us on arrival, which is a really lovely gesture, so thank you.

We didn’t use the facilities as we only stayed for the one night to get away from home and used our own facilities in the van.

Other people on the site were really friendly and we had a good chat to everyone.

Dogs had a great time in the dog walking field and across the heath over the road. Good walk into Bungay, albeit it absolutely poured with rain!

Will definitely be staying again.

The Old Sun is a lovely and peaceful spot for a relaxing stay. You can really tell how much care the owners have taken to make sure you have everything you need, with lots of thoughtful and helpful details. We hope to be back.

Greated at the gate by the two lovely owners who explained the site over a cup of tea that they provided, very much welcomed after our journey. The the shower block was 1st class and the lounge area a very nice extra. A lovely site that we will visit again that I strongly recommend.

Nice greeting and info of services which were all nice and clean. Bonus pot of tea on arrival.

WiFi available didn’t cover all pitches, perhaps a signal booster would resolve.

Mary and Graham have a gem of a site. It’s easy to find and village shops just down the road. The pitches are well spaced out and mostly level. A peaceful country location that’s well situated to explore Norfolk and Suffolk.

The shower/toilet/facilites are clean and more than adequate for the number of visitors to the site. Easy site access. We stayed for 4 nights which we could have happily extended- such a good place to getaway from everyone if you wanted to. Plenty of local wildlife on and around the site.

The cuppa on arrival was very welcoming, thank you Mary.

We will definitely be returning to The Old Sun as we have family in the area and couldn’t think of a better place to pitch up.

What an amazing little site this is. It all started on arrival when Graham met us at the gate and after showing us where all the facilities were, offered us tea or coffee. Such a lovely welcome.

In one part of the barn we found the Shower and toilet facilities were lovely and clean and in the other part of the barn amongst other things, there was a fridge where you could purchase food essentials.

Definitely be booking to come back that’s for sure.

An excellent site plenty of space ,showers etc excellent ,stable room full of up to date information on events and site seeing could not have asked for anything better

After a four and a half hour drive we arrived here in very warm temperatures. We were lucky enough to get pitch 4 which was shaded. Graham brought us out a pot of tea, with biscuits! Such a lovely gesture and much appreciated by us.

The field was very well kept as were the toilet and shower. There was also a fridge with some basic supplies. All in all the perfect site if you want a peaceful stay on the Suffolk/Norfolk border. Ideally situated for trips to Norwich or to the south.

When we arrived we where welcome by very frendley owners and they served us a pot of tea.

Lots of space and very well kept toilet and shower.

The lawn also very well kept.

A very peacefull place for grownups.

From the warm welcome to the friendly farewell we couldn’t have been treated better than we were at The Old Sun Campsite. The slightly sloping field in such a lovely setting was so peaceful and plenty of space between pitches. Only one toilet and shower for eight pitches might be an issue when the site is full, but we were only one of four for our stay. The facilities were clean and well cared for and a visitor’s lounge offered local information and use of a fridge/freezer as well as goodies for sale, including ice cream with an honesty box. The entrance gateway on arrival is a snug width, so be sure to approach from the right direction ( advice available on the site’s very good information page). Lovely lakeside walks on the doorstep if you have a dog and nearby post office, or a little further the town of Bungay, offer everything you may need. We will definitely return.

Lovely, small, adults only site but plenty of room for each van. Facilities are excellent, including a campers’ lounge with microwave! Great to be greeted with tea and biscuits! The owners are motorhomers and have sucessfully included everything they would want on a site themselves. Would definitely go back if we find ourselves near Bungay again.

We knew we were going to be happy from the moment Mary asked if we would like a tea or coffee. We were in plot one AKA The Naughty Corner. This side of the site has the best views in my opinion. The site has so many extra facilities that others don’t. Eg a fridge and freezer with so many extra goodies. Mary’s own handicrafts and access to a beautiful little river. Saturday night saw us and 2 other couples along with Graham and Mary around the fire pit trying various shots and we put the world to rights and had a really good laugh. We were there for 4 nights but it wasn’t enough!

Buses stop right outside the gate. Broome heath is a short distance away and just a tiny bit further is a local Co op for any extras that you might need.

First class site. Warm welcome and tea and biscuits on arrival from Mary. Attention to detail was super. Spotless toilet/shower area with hairdryer . Family room with games, books, maps etc, plus some provisions e.g bacon, eggs etc. Best site we have stayed on.Highly recommended.

And we were delighted to find so many nice touches to help us enjoy our stay. For example. A basic ounge area with a desk that had all the local information you would need. A fridge that was stocked with things that you could buy. Also a good toilet and shower area, which was always clean.

The Tranquility of the site mirrors the peacefulness of the area. A good place to get away from the pace of life, and a chance to reset.

We have used many C L’s in the UK and this site is one of the best, if not the best we have used.

We stayed for eight enjoyable days. And as we are mainly wild campers, its the longest we have ever stayed on any site, And all being well, we will enjoy the site again. Ours thanks to you both.

When we arrived we were greeted personally by Mary and Graham with a tray of proper old fashioned tea in a pot with cups and saucers accompanied by biscuits, what a lovely touch. The site itself is in a beautiful location next to open fields and woods with a small brook at the bottom of the camping field. The facilities consisted of a spotless shower and toilet together with a lounge area with seating and a fridge freezer containing a few essentials such as milk, bacon, bottled water and ice creams, all this was housed in an old stable block. The camping field is fairly flat at its top and then slopes down to the brook. The pitches are well spaced out and all have electric hookup. There is fresh water and an Elsan point together with a small outdoor washing up area with cold water.

All in all it is a great little camping site and we couldn’t have been made more welcome.

Hosts Graham and Mary could not have been more friendly and welcoming. The site and facilities were spotless and maintained to a very high standard. We would highly recommend
