When we arrived, we were made very welcome, and was given all the info for site. What I love most was it’s a very small site and very picturesque and, peaceful. Also a good base place for if you want to visit Yarmouth, Norwich etc. We have booked again for July.

I had a really lovely few days at this campsite. The owners are friendly and helpful their site is extremely well kept with spotlessly clean facilities. The location is great for local walks.

Hi all, we have just returned from The Old Sun camping and caravan site in Broome suffolk. We had a lovely stay despite the weather. This site has everything you need and at a great price. The shower and wc were immaculate, their are kitchen washing facilities as well as a community room with items you nay need for sale, ehu and water as well as waste disposal. Couldn’t fault this site, very tranquil, we were totally relaxed for the duration of our stay. Mary and Graham were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, the mug of tea on arrival was most welcome. We have already booked to return in August. 10#10

Idyllic peaceful spot

A weekend away at last! Met up with family at this beautiful campsite. Such a peaceful spot with plenty of space – all beautifully maintained. Hosts Mary and Graham are friendly and welcoming and provide little extras – this weekend a communal campfire, sharing of stories, gin and marshmallows. Im almost reluctant to promote this wonderful site as I know it will make it more difficult to book as it becomes popular and sought after!

Thank you Jane, it was so lovely to see you again. Hopefully next time it will be a little warmer, for more tales around the campfire.

Used the Old Sun following a friend’s recommendation. The site is well set up and has very clean and tidy appearance. there is slight slope to part of the field. if blistering hot – shade might be limited, but that was not a problem for me.
I was impressed at the well labelled Waste & recycling bins, including a dog wastebin. Walking on Broome Heath (adjacent to site) was great for the dog – and I know the local pub is excellent. They have a very efficient on-line booking system.

Five nights turn into nine!

We arrived as planned to this lovely site and within half an hour decided we wanted to stay longer.
We were delighted that the owners,Mary and Graham, were so flexible in accommodating our request. The site is so well maintained and peaceful and in a beautiful setting close to nature; we saw a fox and a muntjac in the fields opposite plus added bonus of buzzards and a kite in the sky overhead. Just a shame we couldn’t make use of the fire pit as the evenings were too cold to sit out.
We chose to use our own facilities in our caravan but the campsite shower and toilet were being cleaned between households as per COVID-19 guidelines.
Village shop in Ditchingham ideal for topping up supplies and about 15 minutes from the site.
Thanks so much for our enjoyable stay and we hope to return later this year.

We began our first camp trip ever with our roof tent here on the 19/4/21. Minutes before we reached their gates our rear tyre blew on our Landcruiser. We limped in just after 7pm to be greeted by a smiling Mary who welcomed us and parked us up and showed us how the site worked. Shortly after Graham came to offer us his help… local tyre depot and most usefully a robust safe hydraulic jack and his good advise on where to put it under the chassis!! We’d also found out we didn’t have the right electricity plug on our lead so he lent us one for our stay and told us what to get. The next day he drove our tyre down to the depot for us .. rolling it could have been an option but it would have robbed us of time we instead got to spend as planned cycling that day in the lovely quiet countryside. We saw a barn owl the night we arrived and deer in the fields on the opposite side of their stream during our stay. The campsite facilities were second to none.. set in a converted stable block along with the super clean and welcoming shower and toilet block was a guest lounge good if you needed to set up at a laptop on a desk or if weather was so dreadful you wanted a change of scenery from your tent/caravan to have a cuppa and a chat with another visitor. The outdoor wash down area down area was given the same care and attention. Mary cooked us scones on our last day and we sat and ate them with them both in the sun over a cup of tea. We really had the most memorable first trip and we will definitely be returning with our two jack Russell’s (who were also welcome and provided with an small exercise paddock especially for them). One big additional like of this campsite was the safe feeling it gave us to have Graham and Mary living right in front of the camping field on the road and the stream running behind. I would stay confidently there with my daughter on our own and feel safe. Thank you Graham and Mary. See you again one day.

Once again we had a wonderful stay on this site – the owners are lovely and welcoming. The site has lovely views and the facilities are amazing for a small campsite. This time we stayed just 1 night in our campervan and were placed in the ‘naughty corner’! Can’t think why – ( smiley face). We will keep coming back to this wonderful site.

Lovely adult only site set in some very quiet countryside. Owners Mary and Graham very helpful and obliging but not intrusive. Walking distance to a local pub and a co op in the next village via flat walking amongst heathland and fishing lakes. We have a large tag axle motorhome, which made the access to the site a little demanding but the owners were there to assist. Really quaint facilities in the old stable blocks but everything you need and more and full of local information. Thank you for a lovely break. We will be back. Debbie, Graham and Billie xx

We arrived late to The Sun Inn due to traffic and the owner was still there to greet us upon arrival. They explained where everything was and were very helpful in describing the local area.
The site is very well maintained, clean and picturesque with beautiful views overlooking woodland. Each plot had lots of space and wherever you are, you will still see the lovely views.
If you like nature you will be very pleased with the views and we loved watching wild rabbits and even deer.
There is a pub called The Artichoke which is a 10 minute walk away in Broome and a local shop around 20 minutes walk away as well as some beautiful walks in close vicinity.
We went to the small seaside town of Southwold which was about a 40 minute drive where they have a beautiful sandy beach and some of the best fish and chips we have tasted.
There is also The Adnams Brewery where you can visit their shop to try out some new bitters and ales.
Overall, we had a lovely, long weekend and would love to come back and stay again!

We regularly visit the area but this is our first stay at The Old Sun.
We arrived and were greeted by by both Graham and Mary whom are both very friendly and pleasant.
The site is very clean and well kept, full 16A EHU, very tidy CWC & Grey waste disposal
Being motor homers themselves the owners understand the requirements and deliver these very well.
The site is very quite compared with others we visited in the area.
Ourselves visit this area primarily to walk the endless footpaths and bridleways including the Angles way
We will bereturning

Wonderful campsite with thoughtful touches

My husband and I had a marvellous time at The Old Sun. It was our first visit in our motorhome and we took our bicycles as we had heard of the cycle route network in the Bungay area. The site was tidy and the stable block which had been converted into a bathroom with loo and sitting room (with games and books to borrow and a fridge/freezer to use) was scrupulously clean. There were also thoughtful extras like eggs and milk in the fridge and fresh herbs and cherry tomatoes for guests to pick.
The cycling in the area was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hosts went out of their way to make us feel welcome.

We were warmly greeted by Mary who showed us the facilities (shed with loo and shower and spacious room with basin, and adjoining room with large fridge and local info) and kindly sold us a box of her own eggs as we’d left ours behind! Lovely small site with three electric hookups. We were lucky to have the place to ourselves. Wi fi in the van was a bit iffy but worked fine outside! Near Bungay and the coast – we discovered Cove Hithe which was wonderful. Would certainly go again.

This is my second stay at the Old Sun CL site. I was celebrating my birthday so we booked their Air B&B as well for my parents to stay in while we stayed in their lovely paddock overlooking the forest and brook. Fantastic facility’s and attention to detail …. nothing has been forgotten which is also mirrored in their Air B&B. I will certainly be returning in our Motorhome again next year. Very close to Beccles and Bungay and a 19 mile drive to the coast and Southwold (Adnams country) so book it now ….you wont be disappointed . Graham and Mary are wonderful hosts.

This campsite is a hidden gem in the Norfolk countryside. Immaculate facilities including a small lounge for guests with a fridge & freezer. The site is a large well kept field with plenty of space for the 5 allowed units.
Certainly a place I will revisit when the opportunity arises.

This little site is a real gem. We have stayed in many small CS sites, much preferring them to bigger commercial sites; this site was fabulous! We loved the warm welcome from our super hosts Graham and Mary who made sure we were happily settled in the day we arrived. They have thought of all the small details that make for super holidays, such as the honesty bar for items you might have forgotten, the stable lounge area and the selection of handmade fabric face masks to purchase (made by Mary to support a local charity), A highlight for us was the communal fire pit, perfect for sharing stories with other campers! We hope one day we will be back. Thank you both 🙂

Thanks again Mary and Graham.
